Jaipur International Airport (ICAO: VIJP) is the primary airport serving the capital city of Rajasthan, located in the northwestern part of India. Known for its distinctive pink city charm, Jaipur Airport is a key gateway to one of India's most popular tourist destinations.
The airport handles over 4 million passengers annually and features both domestic and limited international services. IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air operate frequent regional flights to metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, while international carriers connect Jaipur to destinations such as Dubai, Muscat, and Sharjah. It's an ideal location to fly narrow-body aircraft like the A320 or 737 on short to medium-haul routes across the subcontinent and beyond.
This scenery has been carefully developed by SkyMatrix Studios, a passionate team focused on delivering immersive and high-quality airport environments for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- Every inch of the airside environment has been handcrafted, with custom textures for runways, aprons, taxiways, and service roads that reflect the vibrant, real-world feel of Jaipur.
- The landside area has been thoughtfully recreated with local signage, vegetation, barriers, and details that bring the terminal surroundings to life.
- Dynamic and realistic lighting has been implemented across the airport, enhancing the atmosphere during day, night, and every transition in between.
- All terminal buildings, hangars, and airport structures have been accurately modeled to capture the design and character of Jaipur International Airport.
- The airport layout is fully up to date with the latest real-world configurations, including stand placements, taxi routes, and ground markings.
- All assets have been optimized with carefully tuned Level of Detail (LOD) models to ensure smooth performance across a wide range of hardware.
- The scenery takes advantage of the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK features to deliver improved materials, lighting, and overall visual quality.
- Taxiway signage has been custom-created to closely match real-world placement and appearance, aiding accurate ground navigation.

The rest of the airport is rather low-fidelity however. The biggest issue is the ground work, where everything placed down is offset by a few metres. Windsock, drainage system, roads, taxiways bits of pavement all over the area, all is offset and the blurred flat part is clearly visible next to it.
Also the paved ground textures themselves look rather generic and sterile and are not very lifelike.
Other than taxiway signs and an oddly shaped VOR satiation, there is not much else in terms of 3D objects like technical installations. The water drainage system is not modelled and is blurry pixels on the aerial image only. There are attempts of modelling it by a simple generic texture, but it's completely offset so doesn't look realistic at all.
The well modelled terminal buildings is appreciated, but there's more to an airport than just that. The rest is low-fidelity work with little attempt to accurately recreate the real counterpart.

The domestic terminal building is very well done, inside and out. The interior modelling competently competes with the very best of 2025, while some of the building's external weathering looks brilliant. My only gripe is the lack of any real tint in the glass, which makes it look totally transparent at night. This terminal's outdoor landside is very nicely modelled but feels a bit deserted, save for a few static figures right outside the entrance/exit doors. The same can be said of the much smaller Terminal 1 (international), which doesn't feature an interior.
The airfield ground textures and markings are good, without being exceptional; however despite a modest selection of custom GSE clutter, the ramp feels a little empty, with a few too many default assets for my liking. I also feel some buildings and structures away from the main terminal area could've been better textured, but the airfield perimeter wall is nicely modelled and includes guard towers spaced at regular intervals.
Unfortunately, SkyMatrix chose not to model any of the airport's immediate surroundings, meaning you're left with poor default autogen to provide the immersion on take-off and short finals. Needless to say, this is far from a treat for the eyes. Unsurprisingly, this is much less of an issue in darkness and the entire airport does, to be fair, look fantastic at night (save for the unconvincing opacity of Terminal 2's glass).
In summary, this airport has the basics of a five-star product — it just needs refinement — but there's certainly a lot of potential here.
