We present to you a highly detailed rendition of Dhaka Airport (VGHS) for Microsoft Flight Simulator ®. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, formerly known as Zia International Airport, is the largest and most prominent international airport in Bangladesh. It commenced operations in 1980, with the main runway and central portion of the current terminal building being inaugurated by then President Ziaur Rahman as Dacca International Airport.
The airport serves as the primary hub for Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier, as well as most private airlines in Bangladesh including, Novoair, US-Bangla Airlines, and AirAstra. It has an annual passenger handling capacity of 18.5 million, which is predicted to suffice until 2026 by CAAB. In 2014, the airport handled 9.1 million passengers and 248,000 tons of cargo.

This airport exudes next-gen quality. In my opinion, this is exactly how airports should appear in MFS2020. Starting from the weathered terminal building to the astonishing night lighting and surrounding structures, down to the intricate details like the canal running alongside the runway – all of it left me utterly speechless. The encompassing buildings and the orderly airport surroundings contribute significantly to the immersive experience.

While I generally prefer flying during the day, I must say that this airport truly comes alive during dawn, dusk, or the night, especially with a faint haze that leaves you in awe. The sheer beauty of this airport has elevated my expectations, causing me to raise my standards for airports within this simulator. It's safe to say that this developer, particularly with this airport, has reached the caliber of Flytampa and Flightbeam. It's great to see a high quality airport like this in the part of the world which often is overlooked within flightsim. Worth the purchase if you are curious enough to explore Bangladesh.
