2025 - A Year in Review

2025 - A Year in Review

As 2025 winds down, we wanted to share a quick look back at the year with you. It started with a pretty uncertain situation around MSFS 2024 after the rough release last year, but things turned around fast. Thanks to SU3, SU4, and a lot of great work from developers, the switch to the new sim really picked up - going from about 25% MSFS 2024 app starts in January to almost 80% today. It's been nice to see everyone gradually settle into the new platform.

A big moment for us this year was announcing the FA50 at FSExpo. The reaction was incredibly encouraging, and it has kept all of us motivated. Even though we didn't hit our internal release target, we're still confident that taking the extra time was the right choice. Over the past days alone, our "MVT" (most valuable tester) - a real FA50 pilot - sent us dozens of notes and insights. We're continuing to add more interactivity and sound work to make the aircraft feel right.

On the store side, 2025 was a strong year for Contrail. We've seen steady growth, and we appreciate everyone who has supported us. A few fun numbers: our CDN pushed 884 TB of data, handled 68.9 million requests, and delivered 548,000 downloads. This year's bestsellers were vRAAS by LAND3 Simulations, EGBB Birmingham by Pyreegue, and the 727 Passenger by FSS - all solid releases that many of you clearly enjoyed.

Thanks again for being with us. We wish you and your families a relaxing holiday season and, as always, happy flying! ✈️
